The Richmond Volunteer Action Committee saw light in 1980 and two years later became the Richmond Volunteer Center. In 2012, the name was changed to Richmond Volunteer Action Center. In July 2016, the Richmond Volunteer Action Center moved to new offices on the first floor of the Couvent du Mont Saint-Patrice.
